Description

Blanche de Namur

Blanche de Namur is one of the better white beers of the moment. The name derives from the daughter of Count John of Namur. The beer is brewed by Brasserie du Bocq from Belgium. This wheat beer has surprising floral aromas with delicious fruity notes. Blanche de Namur is slightly cloudy and a beautiful light yellow color. The taste of coriander and orange peel defines the fresh character of this specialty beer . From the very first sip, you are surprised by the roundness and delicacy of this refreshing beer. The full white head completes this beer perfectly. With an alcohol percentage of 4,5% in a 25cl bottle, you can absolutely consider this white beer a thirst quencher. Pour Blanche de Namur into a beautiful tall Weizen glass at a drinking temperature between 2 and 4 degrees Celsius. This way, you will taste the fine aromas and elegant bitterness throughout the tasting.

Brasserie du Bocq

Brasserie du Bocq is a true family brewery located in the Belgian village of Purnode. In 1858, founder Martin Belot (a farmer from Purnode) began brewing beer in his barn. Like many others, he brewed beer during the winter because there was no work to be done on the land. With the discovery of a unique groundwater layer, the brewery holds a major asset. The brewery's name is a reference to an old priory. The name of this priory was 'Corsendonk', located in Oud-Turnhout. The municipality of Oud-Turnhout wanted to receive its own beer as a gift for the town's 125th anniversary. In exchange, the family brewery was allowed to continue using the priory's name as its own brand. This eventually led to a fine array of different abbey beers, with Blanche de Namur perhaps being the greatest success. In our opinion, it is definitely highly recommended!
