Description

St. Bernardus Triple

The St. Bernardus Tripel is a recognized abbey beer brewed by the Sint Bernardus Brewery. The beer is hazy yellow in color (almost orange) and has a full, white head. On the nose, strong fruity aromas of banana, green apple, apricot, white grape, and clove can be detected. The various malts give this Tripel a particularly smooth character. The St. Bernardus Tripel finishes with a dry, peppery bitterness, as it should. The alcohol content of 8,0% is consistently present but certainly not overpowering. We recommend drinking this Tripel at a temperature of 8 to 10 degrees Celsius in combination with one of our dishes listed below in the food pairing tips.

Saint Bernardus Brewery

Brouwerij Sint Bernardus is a brewery located in Watou, Belgium. The brewery was founded in 1945 to brew the beers of Sint Sixtus (better known as Westvleteren) under license. In 1992, the license was not renewed, and Brouwerij Sint Bernardus became an independent brewery. The advantage is that they possess the knowledge and expertise to brew according to the same recipe. The ingredients and the brewing process remain the same as before 1992. It is therefore logical that the St. Bernardus Abt 12 is often compared to Westvleteren. Brouwerij Sint Bernardus has its own hop fields. Additionally, they pump water up from approximately 150 meters underground. These ingredients ensure that St. Bernardus beers always possess their own unique character. With the St. Bernardus Tripel , the brewery holds another gem in its hands!
